Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

Through Psalm 8 and Hebrews 2, Austin-Sparks presents Jesus as the representative Son of Man who recovers humanity’s lost calling to dominion through His death and resurrection. The chapters trace His victory over accusation and death, and the House of God as a family sharing His life and heavenly calling. Readers are called to find their rest in Christ and to share, through the Cross, in God’s purpose for the new creation.
