"Behold My Servant"

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

Beginning with Isaiah’s “Behold, my servant,” and the fulfilment of that prophecy in Jesus, these messages consider Christian service as a calling to contribute to the fulness of Christ. Through the examples of Timothy, Elijah, John the Baptist, Jeremiah, Paul, and Peter, they explore faith, humility, practical labour, and the testing of self-interest. They call servants to surrender personal claims and depend continually on God’s grace. First published in "A Witness and A Testimony" magazines, 1948-1950.
