"This is the Message..."

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

“This is the Message...” explores the first letter of John, tracing its repeated declarations of “This is” to the central reality of eternal life in Christ. It considers how this life creates fellowship with the Father and His Son, and why its growth brings believers into spiritual conflict. The message calls readers to live in that shared life and to know faith’s victory over the world. From unpublished manuscripts (with the exception of chapter 2 which was published in the "A Witness and A Testimony" magazine) of spoken messages given at a conference in York, October, 1962.
