Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

“The Ultimate Things” examines the spiritual conflict behind human history, beginning with Isaiah’s declaration that God declares the end from the beginning. Its chapters contrast an ideology that exalts blood and human supremacy with the pride that seeks to make a name for itself, set against the self-emptying Son whose name is above every name. The reader is called to discern these rival claims and live under Christ’s lordship, giving glory to God rather than self. First published in A Witness and A Testimony magazines, 1942.
