The Spiritual and the Natural Man

The Spiritual and the Natural Man

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

Drawing on 1 Corinthians 2 and 2 Corinthians 3, Austin-Sparks distinguishes the natural, soul-governed person from the spiritual person, and describes the Christian’s transformation into the image of Christ. He traces this new order through Christ’s birth and life, the work of the Cross, and the life of the body of Christ, calling believers to yield every part of themselves to the government of the Spirit.
