The Significance of the Person and Ministry of the Apostle Peter

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

“The Significance of the Person and Ministry of the Apostle Peter” follows Peter as the link between the former Israel and a new, spiritual people of God, drawing especially on Matthew 21:43 and 1 Peter. It shows how the Lord’s dealings transformed Peter’s failures and inherited expectations into a life embodying the new dispensation, and calls believers to move beyond temporal hopes and become a spiritual people bearing the kingdom’s fruit. First published in "A Witness and A Testimony" magazines, 1966.
