The Recovery of Spiritual Power

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

“The Recovery of Spiritual Power” examines the causes of weakness and failure among God’s people, drawing especially on Judges and its contrast with Joshua. It points to Christ in glory as the object of faith, and to knowing the Lord as life through the Spirit, as the way of deliverance and power. Readers are called to pursue living, experiential knowledge of the Lord and His sovereign rule.
