The On-High Calling - Volume 1

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

Opening with Hebrews’ description of believers as “partakers” or companions of Christ and of a heavenly calling, Austin-Sparks traces God’s purpose for the Church through the transition from earthly Israel to a spiritual people in Christ. He considers their life of faith, their new position and abiding vocation, and their identity as the Bride of the Lord, calling readers to hold fast to Christ and share His heavenly calling.
