The More Excellent Ministry

The More Excellent Ministry

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

“The More Excellent Ministry” presents ministry as rooted in union with Christ, pictured in the consecration of Aaron and his sons and the High-Priestly prayer of John 17. Through Elijah and Paul’s teaching on stewardship, Austin-Sparks shows how God chooses, disciplines, and prepares His servants. The reader is called to yield every part of life to the Lord’s rule and faithfully serve both Him and others.
