The Mission, the Meaning and the Message of Jesus Christ

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

Tracing the New Testament’s unified witness to “the mission, the meaning and the message of Jesus Christ,” Austin-Sparks considers how each Gospel and selected apostolic writings present Christ in relation to their particular setting. Beginning with Matthew and continuing through Colossians, these messages call readers to move beyond doctrine alone, receive Christ’s work inwardly, and let the Holy Spirit bring their faith and conduct into accord with Him. From "A Witness and A Testimony" magazines, 1969-1970 (Volumes 47-1 - 48-6).
