"The Laying on of Hands"

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

Opening from Hebrews 5–6, “The Laying on of Hands” surveys the practice across Scripture, from identification, blessing, and ministry in the Old Testament to its place in the early Church. Austin-Sparks relates this foundational teaching to Christ as the centre of truth—Substitute, Representative, and Head—and calls readers to see that Christian life and ministry depend on union with Him, not on outward acts considered apart from Him.
