Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

Opening with Romans 8:2, Austin-Sparks presents the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus as the secret of the passage from defeat in Romans 7 to the triumph and hope of Romans 8. He traces the Spirit’s inward work through the law of the Cross and the exaltation of Christ, calling readers to yield to His leading, grow toward spiritual maturity, and live by Christ’s resurrection life.
