Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

“The Israel of God” traces the spiritual seed God brings forth through Christ’s suffering, drawing on Isaiah 53 and Paul’s teaching that Abraham’s children are those of faith. It follows the transition from Israel after the flesh to a people formed in Christ, their apprenticeship for the Kingdom, and the Church as the object of God’s travail; it calls readers to live by faith and share in God’s purpose. From "A Witness and a Testimony" magazines, January 1957-January 1958.
