Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

Austin-Sparks unfolds Christ as God’s “Horizon”—the full range and character of God’s purpose—through the major stages of Jesus’ mission, from His temptation and victory to His return. Beginning with Acts’ declaration that Christ is “ordained,” he shows how the Cross, resurrection, ascension, and Pentecost bring God’s purpose into view and call believers to yield to Christ and live by God’s power.
