The Holy Spirit, the Church, and the Nations

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

Opening from Acts 1 and Joshua, Austin-Sparks considers the Holy Spirit as a Person, the Spirit of Christ’s character, holiness, and light, and the Spirit’s work in the Church’s witness among the nations. He presents Joshua’s entry into the inheritance as a picture of God bringing a new people through the Cross into the fullness of Christ, and calls readers to seek a Spirit-filled life and possess that inheritance in faith. First published in "A Witness and A Testimony" magazines, 1957-1958.
