The God of Bethel

The God of Bethel

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

“The God of Bethel” traces the biblical theme of God’s dwelling with humanity, beginning with Jacob’s revelation at Bethel and extending to the tabernacle and the house of God. It presents holiness, separation from idolatry and reliance on the Spirit rather than the flesh as necessary for that dwelling, calling believers to grow into God’s purpose and order their life together by His mind. A Consideration of the Great Revelation in the Scriptures Concerning the House of God From "A Witness and A Testimony" magazines, 1931-1932.
