The Fight of the Faith

The Fight of the Faith

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

“The Fight of the Faith” explores the New Testament phrase “the faith” as the spiritual reality of sonship in Christ, rather than a system of doctrine, and explains why this reality provokes conflict. Beginning with Paul’s call to fight the good fight, Austin-Sparks follows sonship through its nature, liberty, and need for revelation, then considers the mystery and fullness of the Gospel. The chapters call believers to grow toward spiritual maturity and contend for the life God brings forth in His sons. First published in "A Witness and A Testimony" magazines, 1942-43.
