The Faith of the Overcomer

The Faith of the Overcomer

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

“The Faith of the Overcomer” explores faith as trust in Christ, who has accomplished the believer’s identification with the Cross and lives within to fulfill God’s purpose. Beginning with Galatians 2:19–20, it follows faith through Abraham’s costly trust in God’s timing and turns to Hebrews’ call to stand firm amid suffering. It urges readers to look to Jesus and endure with hope in what is unseen. First published in "A Witness and A Testimony" magazines, 1940.
