The Dispensation of the Holy Spirit

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

“The Dispensation of the Holy Spirit” opens with Jesus’ words to the Samaritan woman in John 4: worship will be neither tied to Gerizim nor Jerusalem, but offered in spirit and truth. Austin-Sparks traces the change from outward forms to a spiritual order and presents the Church, empowered by the Holy Spirit, as called to maintain and enlarge the testimony of Jesus while the Lord is away. It calls readers to embrace that responsibility in dependence on the Spirit. First published in "A Witness and A Testimony" magazines, 1966.
