The Deep Things of the Spirit

The Deep Things of the Spirit

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

Beginning with 1 Corinthians 2:9–10, Austin-Sparks considers the Spirit’s unveiling of God’s deep things, centring on Christ and the kingdom. Through Jesus’ parables of the hidden treasure and precious pearl, and his teaching about the Spirit and God’s rule, he calls readers beyond outward religious understanding to receive the Spirit’s revelation and live under Christ’s sovereign rule.
