Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

“The Cross and God's Eternal Purpose” traces God’s plan from the mystery hidden through the ages to its fulfilment in Christ and His Church, drawing on Ephesians, Romans, and Ezekiel’s vision of the Temple. It calls believers to let the Holy Spirit reveal Christ, submit their lives and service to God’s purpose, and take the Cross as the foundation and way of the Church’s life. First published in "A Witness and A Testimony" magazines, 1934 with the following note: "The following messages were given at a conference in Basle, and have been translated back from the German. They are here reproduced as translated into English by a Swiss friend.".
