The Church of the Firstborn

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

“The Church of the Firstborn” reads the Levites as a pattern of the church and its calling to carry God’s heavenly testimony. From Hebrews 12 and Numbers, Austin-Sparks traces a new beginning in Christ, growth into a full knowledge and measure of Him, and the church’s shared responsibility for God’s house. Readers are called to keep the old creation from mingling with Christ’s work and to serve the whole purpose of God. From unpublished manuscripts. Published on the web in August 2010.
