Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

“The Battle for the Throne” presents dominion as the central issue of Scripture, tracing its loss through the Fall and its recovery in Christ. Opening with 2 Chronicles 22–23, Genesis 3:15, and Revelation 17:14, Austin-Sparks describes the conflict over God’s rule and humanity’s calling as prophet, priest, and king. The closing chapter calls believers to wholehearted devotion and a voluntary consecration to the Lord. First published in "A Witness and A Testimony" magazines, 1934.
