Spiritual Manhood

Spiritual Manhood

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

“Spiritual Manhood” traces God’s intention for humanity from “Ye must be born anew” in John 3 to the full-grown person measured by Christ. Drawing especially on Ezekiel’s visions of man, the Spirit, and life, Austin-Sparks contrasts natural ideas of spirituality with life in the indwelling Holy Spirit. The reader is called to pursue God’s purpose: a mature, spiritual manhood shaped by Christ.
