Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

“Spiritual Hearing” traces the spiritual life through Scripture’s images of the ear: listening to the Lord rather than the adversary, the servant’s ear pierced in love, the priest’s ear consecrated by blood, and the opened ear of Isaiah 50. Centering on Christ, the obedient Servant who hears the Father morning by morning, it calls readers to test what they hear, surrender their rights in love, and live in daily dependence on God. First published in "A Witness and A Testimony" magazines, 1950.
