Recovery in a Day of Failure

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

“Recovery in a Day of Failure” reads the book of Judges as a picture of the Lord’s people departing from His full purpose and needing spiritual recovery. Through Othniel, Ehud, Deborah, and Gideon, Austin-Sparks considers faith in God’s strength, union with Christ, and the qualities of spiritual leadership. The chapters call readers to take responsibility for the Lord’s testimony, trust Him amid apparent contradictions, and serve without self-importance. From unpublished manuscripts, first published by the Golden Candlestick Trust.
