"Not by Might, Nor by Power, But by My Spirit"

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

Opening with Zechariah 4:6, Austin-Sparks presents the Holy Spirit as the source and perfecter of every new work of God, tracing this theme through Zechariah, Haggai, Acts, and Luke. He considers the Spirit’s outpouring, the believer’s standing through Christ’s cross and resurrection, and the hindrances to blessing, calling readers to seek a life and shared testimony formed and sustained by the Spirit.
