Nehemiah - A Living Message for God's People Today

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

Austin-Sparks reads Nehemiah as an end-time pattern of recovery, with the altar, house, and wall portraying the Cross, the Church, and the testimony of Christ to the world. Nehemiah’s example calls God’s people to become a zealous, corporate vessel for that testimony and to intercede with travail, knowledge of the Lord, persistence, and confession of shared sin. First published in "A Witness and A Testimony" magazines, 1933.
