"Let the House be Builded"

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

“Let the house be builded” traces God’s eternal purpose to dwell among people, opening with Ezra 6 and the decree to rebuild the house. Across Scripture, Austin-Sparks follows the conflict over this purpose—from Israel and the temple to Christ and the Church—and calls readers to see God’s dwelling as the measure of Christian work and life, and to stand for its fulfilment. From the original, unabridged writings of T. Austin-Sparks in the 1964 magazine "A Witness and a Testimony". Based on spoken messages given in May 1957.
