Jesus - Prophet, Priest, and King

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

Opening with the Emmaus disciples’ recognition of Jesus as a prophet, Austin-Sparks unfolds Christ’s threefold office as Prophet, Priest, and King, drawing especially on Hebrews, Acts, and Ephesians. He presents Christ as God’s full purpose for humanity and considers how His continuing ministry is expressed in the church. The reader is called to appropriate Christ personally and share in the church’s heavenly calling toward God’s intended fullness.
