Fundamental Questions of the Christian Life

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

Beginning with the questions “Who do you say that I am?” and “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”, Austin-Sparks considers Christ, the Spirit, understanding Scripture, and service as foundations of the Christian life. Opening in Matthew 16 and drawing on the experiences of Peter and Philip, he calls believers to grow in their knowledge of Christ, receive the Spirit’s life, understand the Word, and serve as functioning members of Christ’s body.
