From the Wilderness to the Land

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

From Israel’s wilderness journey and the eleven days stretched into forty years, Austin-Sparks explores the distance between the self-life and Christ, and the wilderness as a school that forms people of spiritual stature. He turns to Hebrews’ promise of entering God’s rest through faith, then uses the healing in Acts 3 to picture a decisive step: rising to walk in the Spirit, praise God, and go on with His people. From "A Witness and A Testimony" magazines, 1943-1945.
