Born From Above

Theodore Austin-Sparks (1888–1971) was a British evangelist and author. Born in London, he became a Christian at seventeen while listening to street-preachers in Glasgow, and was ordained a Baptist minister at twenty-four. In 1926 he left the denomination and, with like-minded Christians, founded a conference and training centre at Honor Oak in south-east London. From there he published the free magazine "A Witness and A Testimony" until his death, and his conference ministry took him across Europe, North America and Asia. He asked that his messages be shared freely and word for word. Source: Wikipedia (summarized; CC BY-SA)

About this book

“Born From Above” traces the New Testament’s contrast between the earthly man and the heavenly Man, opening with Jesus’ words to Nicodemus in John 3 and developing through the Cross, spiritual nourishment, and the transformation figured in Jacob’s passage from Jacob to Israel. It calls believers to the self-dethronement of the earthly life and to growing conformity to Christ, the Man revealed in glory, within His people.
