Robert Murray McCheyne

Andrew Alexander Bonar (1810–1892) was a minister of the Free Church of Scotland and the younger brother of Horatius Bonar. Pastor at Collace and then for over forty years at Finnieston in Glasgow, he was a close friend of Robert Murray M'Cheyne, whose Memoir he wrote. About this book

Bonar traces Robert Murray McCheyne’s life from his youth and spiritual preparation through his preaching, pastoral ministry in Dundee, mission to Palestine and the Jews, and final years. Opening with Luke’s words about John the Baptist, the account shows McCheyne’s devotion to Christ, his labor among his people, and his trials and weakness. His example calls ministers to humble, prayerful service and readiness to preach the gospel wherever God sends them.
