The Pilgrim's Progress, Part Two

John Bunyan (1628–1688) was an English tinker turned Puritan preacher in Bedford. Largely self-educated, he was imprisoned for twelve years for preaching without a license, and it was in prison that he began The Pilgrim's Progress, published in 1678. His allegory, his spiritual autobiography Grace Abounding, and works such as The Holy War have made him one of the most read Christian authors in the world.

About this book

Six years after The Pilgrim's Progress, Bunyan told the rest of the dream: Christian's wife Christiana, who would not go with him, sets out with their four sons and her neighbour Mercy along the road he took. Guided by Mr. Great-Heart, they pass the Interpreter's House, the Valley of the Shadow of Death, Vanity Fair and Doubting Castle, gathering weak and fearful pilgrims as they go, until they come to the river and the Celestial City.
